Two possible choices:
Thursday, 8/5, 10 AM - 3 PM or Sunday, 8/8, 1:30pm - 4:30

Departure from Marriott, Maryville West on Thursday, or from Visitation on Sunday. Note: to arrange an extra overnight at the Marriott, just call DeSales Resources and Ministries 716-754-4948 and let them know you will want an extra overnight. You will be able to pay for the extra day, at conference rates, when you get to the hotel. (Hotel will hold luggage for those arriving Thursday AM for the Tour.)

THE TOUR WILL INCLUDE:
INTRODUCTION TO SAINT LOUIS
Begin by visiting the historic riverfront. Enjoy the contrasts as you see sternwheelers, floating restaurants and casinos; the renovated warehouses of Laclede’s Landing; the oldest cathedral west of the Mississippi; the Old Courthouse, scene of the Dred Scott trial, and the modern stainless steel Arch, the tallest national monument in the United States.

Continue past Busch Memorial Stadium, fine civic buildings, the historic South Side, containing the Lafayette Square and Soulard restoration areas to the Anheuser-Busch Brewery, a mammoth complex of Romanesque and modern buildings and go into the Clydesdales stable.

Continue on to the architecturally fascinating Union Station for a tour (and lunch on your own on Thursday); pass Jesuit-run Saint Louis University and the theater district.

Stop at the breathtakingly beautiful New Cathedral-Basilica where the largest collection of mosaics in the western world covers nearly the entire interior.

Tour through elegant residential areas to see turn-of-the-century mansions.

Wind your way through fabulous Forest Park, site of the 1904 World’s Fair and present home of the Art Museum, the Muny, the History Museum, the famous Saint Louis Zoo, and many other points of interest. Return to Marriott or Viz.

The maximum cost will be $30/ person for the 5-hour tour, $20 for the 3 hr tour.
(The 5-hr tour includes a stop for lunch, NOT included in the tour fee.)

Each tour must have a minimum number of persons; bus sizes will depend on the number of paid participants by July 1. If there are not enough passengers, you will be notified by July 10 and your check will be returned at the conference.

All tours must be prepaid by check; make payable to Visitation.
